Sometimes the situation we are in, the problems that we face, can seem overwhelming – there seems to be no solution – we feel helpless and unable to change things.
In such circumstances, it can be helpful to focus on what we can control, however small, to think about a small change we can make, rather than about the many things we can’t change.
By thinking about the little things, about the small steps, we can start to change our mindset – we can start to feel that there are some things we can control – we can spend more of our day thinking positively rather than negatively. And a few positive thoughts can breed a positive outlook in other areas of our lives – a few small steps can make one bigger step – a step that on its own may have seemed impossible.
